Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to make an appointment or let someone know that I am coming?

There is no need to make an appointment. Everyone is welcome and there is plenty of room for everybody who wants to attend.

Who are the meetings for?

People who come to our meetings come from all walks of life. The meetings are geared to support LGBT people and their families and friends. It is also a great place for allies who want to learn more about the LGBT community.

Is there a support group for my child?

Absolutely. We have a youth meeting that runs concurrent with the adult meeting where kids are free to be themselves, talk about their struggles, and receive guidance from our youth board liaison. The youth ages are from 10 to 19. We ask that young children not come to the meetings unless you are breastfeeding.

What can I expect to happen at a PFLAG meeting?

Be prepared to walk into a loving environment with people just like you. We start off our meetings with introductions. You are free to tell the group as little or as much as you want about yourself. This lets everyone know a little bit about the other people in the room, why they are there, and starts a dialogue of celebrations, struggles, loss, and support.

Are transgender persons welcome?

Absolutely! All LGBT persons are welcome and that includes the transgender community. We have a large population of transgender children and parents in our Temecula chapter.

I want to come but I don't have transportation. Can I get a ride?

Transportation is not a problem for people who live locally. We have a hospitality member one the board who will pick you up. Please email us at or send a private message to our Facebook page at at least a day before the meeting with your name, address, and phone number and we will get back to you with a time that he will be there. You can also call us at 951-878-8052 to request a ride.

How are the meetings funded?

We run our meetings through donations. We pass a basket around at the end of the meeting for people donating cash. We also have the Square app for people who want to pay by debit or credit card. All donations are a tax write-off as we are a 501(c)(3) organization.

You can also donate online with an option to make a recurring monthly payment in the denomination of your choice.

As a supporter of PFLAG, you enable us to expand our work to keep families together, educate the public, and advocate for equal rights and fair treatment of LGBT people and their families.

How can I get PFLAG to speak at my group?

Please contact us at We are thrilled to come and speak to businesses, churches, and other organizations so that we may educate and provide support for all.
